May, 27^th (Saito talked)

　4月から仙台より宮古に来ていますが、昨日までは本当にジャンバー（冬用）が必要な寒い日が続いていましたが、今日は本当に暑くなり、Ｔシャツ一枚過ごすことが出来ました。


I came to Miyako from Sendai in April. It had been so cold that I wore a coat for winter until yesterday. However, today, it was very hot and I wore a T-shirt.

午前中は引越しのお手伝いに行きましたが汗だく状態で作業をしてきました。久々の力仕事で腰が痛くなりました。運動不足はいけませんね。


In the morning, I helped moving running with sweat. I’ve never done a physical labor for along time, so felt my back hurts.

午後は、鍬ヶ崎地区花プロジェクトでお借りする土地の地主さん宅を訪問し、敷地（土地）使用の承諾を得るために動いておりました。（木田さんも一緒です。）このプロジェクトは6月1日（土）実施予定ですので、また、報告いたします。


In the afternoon, I visited a landowner who lends us a land used for The Kuwagasaki flower project. (With Mr. Kida) we will have this project on June 1^st.

5月26日 

本日は定例の宮古教会での礼拝の後、青山学院女子短期大学のコーラス部とハンドベル部の学生13名によるミニコンサートを行いました。
礼拝に出席していた18名程の方が残り生演奏を聞くことが出来ました。
全6曲ほど披露していただき、曲が終わるごとに拍手が起きていました。
1年生が多いということを伺っていたのですが、見劣りする事なく、見事な演奏を奏でていました。

Today, the chorus club and the hand bell club, 13 students, from Aoyama Gakuin girls junior college, hold her concert after church in Miyako church.
18 people, went to church listened to their live performance.
They performed 6 songs. The audience clapped their hands every songs end.

I know most club members were freshman, however, they played excellently.

５月２５日（土）

本日の宮古は久々に晴天になり、とても過ごしやすい（朝は肌寒かったです）一日となりました。

Today’s Miyako, it was sunny after a long time and comfortable (the morning was a little cold.)


宮古小学校運動会
天気にも恵まれ、元気な子どもたちが日頃の練習の成果を十分に発揮する姿を見ることが出来ました。

３・４年生による『よさこい』！力強い、躍動感のある踊りでした。

A “Yosakoi” dance by 3 and 4 grade students. It was powerful and energetic.

５・６年生による『組み体操』！ゆったりとした中にも力みなぎる演目でした。

It was at ease but full of power.

赤組、白組に分かれての応援合戦も趣向を凝らした素晴らしいものでした。

Students are divided a red team and a white team. The cheering battle was elaborately planned.

みやこ田老『鎮魂の祈り』

　昨年は浄土ヶ浜で行われたこのイベントは、今回は田老町に会場を移しての開催となりました。約４００名の来客者の中、三幕に分けて行われました。

Miyako Taro “Pray for repose of souls”

The event was held at Jodogahama last year. This year, it was held at Taro town. About 400 people came. The event separated 3 scenes.

第一幕は中尊寺の僧侶の方々による三回忌法要が執り行われました。

First scene , a Buddnist memorial service of the second anniversary of deathes was held by people of Chusonji.

第二幕は田老の歴史、田端ヨシさんからのメッセージと『津波鎮魂の詩』朗読、田老太鼓の演奏、宮古北高校応援団によるエール、全員で田老町民歌の合唱が行われました。

Second scene was a Yoshi Tabata’s message, reading aloud of “A poetry of tsunami’s repose of souls, a performance of Taro drums, a cheering by Miyako high school cheering team and singing Taro town song.

ちょっとの時間をはさんで青山学院女子短期大学の学生１３名によるハンドベルが披露されました。

13 students of Aoyama Gakuin Women’s junior college played the hand bells.

第三幕では、大槌町から歌手デビューした、臼澤みさき（中学３年生）による復興応援ミニライブが行われ、観客を魅了していました。

Third scene, Misaki Usuzawa, 15 years old, made her debut from Otsuchi, gave a cheering of reconstruction live. She fascinated audiences.

５月２２日　　活動報告

６月２２日（土）アドベンチャークラブ（野外活動）例会の案内を、小学校へお持ちしに行きました。

やっと車の窓を全開にして走れる季節になり、途中きれいな景色を撮りながら走りました。

I went to elementary schools to send the invitation of a regular meeting (an outdoor activity) on 22 June. The season comes which we can open car windows full. I drove taking pictures of beautiful sceneries on the way.

宮古市で２か所だけの海水浴場。もうひとつは浄土ヶ浜。

海も山も空も、どれをとっても美しい景色です。

There are only 2 bathing places in Miyako. Another one is Jodogahama.
A sea, and mountains and a sky, everything is beautiful.

本州最東端、宮古は本州で一番早起きの町です。

Takahama

Opposite mountains are the opposite shores, the Omoshige pensinsula.

The most eastern place in Honshu, Miyako is a town which getting up is the earliest in Honshu.

An elementary school of the inner part of Miyako bay 
Students practiced for the sports festival (a relay) on this weekend. And also, I heard the vigorous voice of practicing the multiplication tables from windows.
It was very peaceful.

震災後の荒れ地が今も広がる地域です。

空き地に花壇を作り、夏にはヒマワリの花が咲く予定です。

種は横浜の青少年交流センターからいただきました。

Flower beds are made in vacant lands and sunflowers will bloom in summer.
The seeds were sent by The young people exchanging center of Yokohama.

ちょっと前の　ご報告
（５月１７日に行ってきました）

６月２２日（土）にアドベンチャークラブ（野外活動）が行われます。
開催場所の宮古市立少年自然の家への下見に行きました。

On June 22, we’ll held “An Adventure Club (=an outdoor activity).”

We went and took a look at the Miyako’s municipal boys nature house before the day.

６月例会は参加者の子どもたちのほか、保護者も参加でき、家族でも野外活動を楽しめます。野外炊事をしたり、川遊びもでき、今から楽しみです。

On a regular meeting of June, children and their parents can join and enjoy outdoor activities. We can do outdoor cooking and go boating on the river, so we are looking forward to do it.

５月２０日（月）　主な活動のご報告

本日は岩手県復興支援協議会様よりいただきました、馬鈴薯の種イモ10kgを34箱
送っていただきました。北海道生まれの種イモを畑のある近隣仮設住宅や学校に
お配りしました。
秋においしいジャガイモができればいいですね！

Today, we gave 34 boxes (one box is 10kg) seeds potato from the Iwate reconstruction assistance conference. We sent them from Hokkaido near temporary houses or school.
I wish we can get good potatoes in this autumn.

中里仮設住宅の畑に植えてもらうためにお持ちしました。

みなさんの姿が少なかったので、後日みなさんにいただいてもらうことにしました。

We brought to plant at the Nakasato temporary house’s farm. 

However, few people are there, we’ll do again later.

二中仮設ではさっそく植え付けが始まりました。

余分な芽をとり、植えつける準備です。すでに元気な芽が待ちかねているようです。

At the Nichu temporary house, people in there started to plant seeds potato.

They took away extra seeds and was preparing for planting. It seems that already fine seeds wait to be planted.

プランターと仮設住宅の周囲に植えることになりました。

一つずつ丁寧に！

They were planted at flower planters and around temporary houses.

People planted them carefully.

汗ばむ気温、「土いじり」は楽しいですね！

It was so high degrees that we made us perspire a bit. Gardening was fun!

わいわいにぎやかに植え付けられていき、｢おばちゃんパワー(!?)｣をしっかり受け、

きっと元気な芽を出しそうです。

Seed potatoes were planted with enjoying. They gave “a grandma power,” so will sprout up powerfully.

学校の畑にも植えてもらうことになりました。宮古第二中学校と宮古小学校にお配りしました。

They could be planted at a farm of school. We sent them Miyako second junior high school and Miyako elementary school.

【午前】
日本基督教団宮古教会創立104年記念・ペンテコステ　礼拝

(The morning)
The 104th anniversary of Pentecoste Service United Church of Christ in Japan Miyako Church

森分牧師の説教で宮古教会創立当初からの歴史を聞くことができました。
104年の歴史の中で苦難を何度となくくぐり抜け、現在の宮古教会に祈りがつながっています。その絶えることなく続く歴史の重みとともに、教会の歩みを支える一人ひとりの思いを感じることができました。

A minister Moriwake’s sermon told us the history of a Miyako church.
Pray of a Miyako church has come through many times in a 104 years history. We felt feelings support the church.

【午後】
引っ越し作業

(The afternoon) 
A moving work

震災で家を流され、仮設住まいをされている方が今も多くいらっしゃいます。また新しい家を建て、引っ越しをされる方もいらっしゃいます。
今日はその引越しのお手伝いをさせていただきました。高齢の方は引越しの荷造りが難しく、処分するものと残しておきたいものの区別に悩むケースがあり、引越し屋さんには、なかなか言いにくい場合もあると言われます。ボランティアの皆さんが、その悩みにアドバイスや相談しながら、納得して新しい生活ができるお手伝いをしています。荷物を運ぶだけではなく、依頼によっては大切な思い出と快適な生活のために少しずつ、進めることもあります。

Many people lost their home by the disaster and have lived in temporary housings since then. Others build a new house and moving. 
Today, we helped to moving. It is difficult for old people to packing for movinf and they are worrying between throwing away or leaving. So, they are hard to ask public movers for help. Volunteers advise carry packings, we also do slowly for important memories and comfortable life.


鍬ケ崎　花プロジェクト準備

Kuwagasaki Preparing for the flower project

津波でさら地や荒れ放題の土地が広がる地域があります。震災３年目を迎え、未だ故郷の荒れた風景に心痛める方が増えてきていると聞きます。そのような故郷にささやかかもしれませんが、全国からいただいた種でひまわりを咲かせる活動を計画中です。みなさんの心に安らぎを届けられたらと、今から荒れ地に咲くひまわりを楽しみにしています。

There are a vacant lot and an area which has been utterly neglected. 3 years have passed since the earthquake disaster. It seems that the people are increasing who are grieved because their hometown still has been gone to ruin. For such a hometown, we plan to plant sunflowers. We gave lots seeds of a sunflower from all over Japan. We wish we could send your heart relief and sunflowers bloom on barren lands.

宮古ボランティアセンター　アドベンチャークラブ

今年度も始まりました。「アドベンチャークラブ」
今回は故郷の河川、閉伊川の源流探検に区界高原まで行ってきました。
いつものメンバーである、岩手大学の学生ボランティア、宮古市内の高校生（今回は宮古商業高校）に加え、
閉伊川大学校、もりおか中津川の会のみなさんはじめ、東京海洋大学、岩手県立大学のスタッフ、地元の皆さんとの「世界サクラマスサミットIN　IWATE」合流プログラムです。

The Adventure Club is started.
We went to the Kuzakai highltion lands to a source of Hei river exploration which is our hometown river.
Today’s member was Iwate university student volunteers, high school students live in Miyako (today’s school was Miyako commercial high school) and Hei river educational facilities established in affiliation with government agencies students, Morioka Nakatsu river association members, Tokyo ocean university, Iwate prefecture university students and people in Miyako. This is a joining program called “A World Sakura Summit IN IWATE.”

ツキノワグマのマーキングです。

案内板が潰されたり、かじられたり。これは縄張りを示し、クマ同士の不要な衝突を避ける、お互いの平和的な「あいさつ」です。

It is a marking of moon bears.

A guidance board is crushed and gnawed. This shows one moon bear’s territory which is a peaceful greeting for between bears to avoid crushing with them.

「かぶと清水」で小休憩。区界とはいえ今日は暑い一日でした。

We rested at “Kabuto shimizu (=Kabuto springwater).”  It was so hot day.

顔を洗い、さっぱり！

We could be refreshed by washing our faces.

到着！閉伊川の源。小さな穴からチョロチョロと湧き出てきています。

We arrived! This is a source of Hei-river. Water was gushing out from a small hole.

生まれたての閉伊川の赤ちゃんです。

It was like a Hei river baby.

源流探検隊隊長(!?)

無事、発見できました！

He is a captain of a source expeditionary party! 

We could find!

左は兜明神岳、右奥は早池峰の山です。

A left mountain is “Kabutomyojin”, a right one is Mt. Hayachine.

見晴山休憩。

We took a rest at Mt. Miharu.

昆虫博士、何か発見です。

He is an insect expert. He found something.

重さ実感。思ったよりも重かった。

We had an actual feeling of weights. It was heavier than we thought.

ウォーキングセンター到着。

閉伊川の貴重な魚「サクラマス」をいただきます。

間の前でさばかれ、心臓や卵(卵巣)など見せていただき、説明に聞き入っていました。

We got to a walking center. 

We ate “Sakuramasu (=Cherryblossom trouts)” which is rare in Hei river. It was cut in our presences and we watched its heart and spawns (ovaries) and listened attentively to explanations.

サクラマスのあら汁と塩焼きをいただきました。

おいしい、おいしいと完食です。

We ate its soup and grill it with salt.

It was very delicious.

ごはんのあとは、いつものフリータイム。

After lunch, we had freetime.

鬼ごっこチーム。

They played tag.

宮古駅到着、解散。

We arrived at Miyako station and broke up.

今日は岩手大学、岩手大学OB、宮古商業高校のボランティアのみなさんと一緒に活動をしました。ありがとうございました。

Today, we did ethe activity with Iwate university, Iwate university OB and Miyako commercial high school volunteers. Thank you very much.

次回は６月２２日（土）、野外活動センターで野外炊事です。家族参加OK！
